What can I expect?

Experience one of the most acclaimed stories of modern cinema reimagined for the stage in The Lives of Others at London's Adelphi Theatre.

Set in East Berlin in 1984, this gripping drama follows a Stasi officer assigned to secretly monitor the lives of a celebrated writer and his actress partner. From a hidden listening post above their apartment, he records their conversations, observes their relationships and reports every detail. But as the surveillance continues, the distance between observer and observed begins to disappear.

Starring Academy Award nominee Keira Knightley, Emmy Award winner Stephen Dillane and Olivier Award nominee Luke Thompson, this powerful production explores questions of freedom, truth, power and personal responsibility.

Adapted and directed by Olivier Award winner Robert Icke, one of Britain's most celebrated contemporary theatre-makers, The Lives of Others transforms Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck's Oscar-winning film into an intense theatrical experience filled with suspense, emotion and moral complexity.

As secrets unfold and loyalties are tested, audiences are drawn into a world where every word can be dangerous and every decision carries consequences.

A compelling and deeply human drama, The Lives of Others is one of London's most anticipated theatre events of 2026.
