What can I expect?

Experience something truly different with Tao of Glass, an innovative theatrical event making its West End premiere at @sohoplace for a strictly limited season.

Created by renowned composer Philip Glass and acclaimed performer-director Phelim McDermott, Tao of Glass blends live music, storytelling and visual theatre into a captivating and deeply personal journey. Inspired by a dream and shaped by Taoist philosophy, the production explores some of life's most universal questions: Where does inspiration come from? How do we navigate loss? And what gives life meaning?

At the heart of the show are ten newly composed musical pieces by Philip Glass, performed alongside ten reflections on life, memory and creativity. The result is a rich and immersive theatrical experience where music, puppetry and imagination work together to create something both intimate and spectacular.

Known for pushing artistic boundaries, Glass and McDermott invite audiences into a world where personal stories meet timeless wisdom. Thought-provoking yet accessible, Tao of Glass offers moments of humour, wonder and reflection in equal measure.

Whether you are a long-time admirer of Philip Glass or simply looking for an unforgettable evening of theatre, Tao of Glass promises a unique West End experience unlike anything else currently on stage.
